Nutrition Consultation

Theresa Laurenz, MS, RD, LDN is the registered dietitian for Northwestern University.  She received her Bachelor of Science degree in kinesiology (exercise physiology) from the University of Illinois Urbana - Champaign, and her Master of Science degree in human nutrition from University of Illinois at Chicago.  With her experience working in wellness as a personal trainer and clinical dietitian, she has motivated many individuals and groups on how to incorporate healthy habits into their busy lives.  She believes that movement, nourishment, and emotional wellbeing are all equally important to achieve optimal health.  She feels passionate about empowering others to take care of their one and only body.  Specifically, she will reveal the latest health information and provide the tools necessary to increase energy, prevent disease, and enhance physical performance.
Throughout the school year, the dietitian holds fireside chats on a variety of nutrition topics of interest to college students. In addition the dietitian provides FREE individual nutrition consultations to students for issues such as but not limited to the following:

Meet the Dietitian

Our registered dietitian visits the dining facilities regularly to answer any nutrition questions students may have. A variety of nutrition information on topics such as vegetarianism, sports nutrition, and weight management is available along with nutritious and tasty foods.

The dietitian assists the executive chef in formulating healthful menu selections and evaluates the nutritional content of foods served in each dining facility. The dietitian works closely with students who have special nutrition needs and can provide modified menus when indicated.
